Laurie has served as assistant professor in the graduate and undergraduate business programs at National University. She also served as the Vice President of Student Services and Marketing at American Intercontinental University (AIU) from 1998-2001. In this capacity she developed programs that addressed student learning needs, created partnerships with area schools and businesses, and recruited, assessed and placed students who completed the university's programs. While at AIU, Dr. Nalepa served as the chair of the business and fashion marketing department for six years. She worked on course and program development and accreditation reports in addition to her regular department chair duties.
Dr. Nalepa is also the co-author of the book, “The Murder Mystique: Female Killers and popular Culture, which exposes the connections between popular culture and female murderers. This book showcases high-profile females that kill for love, money, self-defense, and psychotic thrills, while exposing the often-biased coverage media provides of females accused of murder. This book will fascinate anyone interested in gender images and feminism in pop culture."
